Taylor & Francis Group, part of Informa, is seeking an Editorial Operations Director (Books) to provide visionary leadership over editorial operations, leading four Editorial Workflow Managers. The role shapes strategy, drives transformation, and delivers sustainable competitive advantage within a senior leadership context.

You will translate strategy into actionable roadmaps, champion innovation, and foster a culture of excellence across editorial operations while aligning with broader business

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading leaders/managers at an executive level.
• Proven track record in strategic planning and organizational transformation.
• Deep knowledge of academic publishing and its industry dynamics.
• Strong financial acumen, including P&L management experience.
• Ability to influence senior executives and navigate complex stakeholder landscapes.
• Shows courage in tough decisions and resilience under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of four Editorial Workflow Managers.
• Shape multi-year strategic plans aligned with wider business objectives and partner with Publishing Directors.
• Establish enterprise-wide KPIs and performance frameworks; oversee portfolio profitability.
• Represent editorial operations in executive forums and build strong relationships with senior leaders.
• Drive the digital transformation strategy and champion emerging technologies.
• Own and manage the editorial operations budget across portfolios and optimize resources.
