Job summary

IPS Finance, an independent accountancy firm in Leeds, seeks an experienced Bookkeeper to manage the bookkeeping needs of a varied portfolio of clients using modern cloud-based accounting software.

You will join a friendly, established practice, working closely with clients to provide accurate bookkeeping and support to the wider accounts team.

Qualifications

• Previous bookkeeping experience in an accountancy environment.
• Good working knowledge of cloud accounting software.
• Experience preparing and submitting VAT returns.
• Ability to manage own workload and build client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Managing bookkeeping for a portfolio of owner-managed businesses.
• Maintaining accurate records with cloud software (Xero/QuickBooks).
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
• Carrying out bank reconciliations and ledgers (purchase and sales).
• Reviewing client records and resolving queries.
• Liaising with clients to ensure records are up to date.
• Assisting the accounts team with management and year-end accounts.

An independent accountancy firm in Leeds is looking to recruit an experienced Bookkeeper to manage bookkeeping requirements for a varied portfolio of clients, using modern cloud-based accounting software.

This is an opportunity to join a friendly, established practice, working closely with clients and providing an efficient, accurate bookkeeping service.

Key responsibilities:

• Managing bookkeeping for a portfolio of owner-managed businesses.
• Maintaining accurate financial records using cloud accounting software, including Xero and QuickBooks.
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
• Bank reconciliations, purchase ledger and sales ledger management.
• Reviewing client records and resolving bookkeeping queries.
• Liaising directly with clients to ensure records are accurate and up to date.
• Supporting the wider accounts team with the preparation of management and year-end accounts.

About You

You will have previous bookkeeping experience, with a good working knowledge of cloud accounting software.

AAT qualifications would be advantageous, although applications are equally welcome from experienced bookkeepers qualified by experience.

This role would suit someone who enjoys managing their own workload, building client relationships and working within a supportive independent accountancy firm.
