We have an exciting opportunity for a Booking Clerk/Receptionists to join the Ophthalmology admin team situated at Axminster Hospital. We are looking for part time hours and we can be flexible on hours worked.

The Administration and Clinical team work very closely together to provide a comprehensive service to our patients. The Administration team comprises of a Booking Clerk/Receptionist, a OPD/DCU administrator and a Service Coordinator. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a busy and growing service.

We are looking for someone who is friendly, well organised and enthusiastic to provide an efficient and professional administrative and clerical service.

This role is fast paced, working in a busy team within Ophthalmology. You will be working as part of a team to cover reception, answering telephone calls and dealing with patient appointments and queries.

The main duties of this role include:

  • Meeting and greeting patients at reception
  • Answering telephones and dealing with appointment requests/queries
  • Booking patient appointments from waiting lists, ensuring appointments are booked accurately on the system
  • Using the NHS E-Referral Service to upload referral letters to EPIC

You will form an essential part of a busy team ensuring patient appointments are booked accurately and information is updated regularly, in a timely manner. You will also need to provide effective communication to both patients and staff in order to ensure the smooth running of the service which enhances patient care.

As a team we always encourage and support personal and professional development, if this is something that interests you.

Visits to the department are welcomed and encouraged.

Working Pattern: 15 hours per week to be determined
