Job summary

Booker Group plc is seeking a detail‑oriented Bond Manager to oversee bonded stock, excise duties, customs duties and VAT at the Magor Regional Distribution Centre. You will ensure HMRC compliance, maintain audit trails and guide duty-related processes across the site.

Working with operational teams and the Central Customs & Excise Manager, you’ll monitor bonded stock activities, manage duty declarations and implement legislative changes with a focus on accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications

• Good understanding of HMRC processes and legislation.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse and transport processes.
• Super user knowledge of the Mentor System.
• Effective communicator at all levels.
• Methodical approach to figures and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Ensure RDC Magor Mentor Master Files are accurate and updated for new legislation.
• Ensure duty declarations and documents are submitted to HMRC on time.
• Advise central Customs & Excise Manager on irregularities and notices.
• Monitor areas affecting tax payments and maintain warehouse efficiency.
• Endorse stock movement warrants and manage EMCS E-AD movements.
• Implement legislative changes and liaise with HMRC as needed.
• Maintain the Duty Deferment Monitoring spreadsheet.
• Coordinate with Stock Integrity Team on bonded products and issues.
• Manage stock adjustments related to budget changes.
• Train staff on Locator/Mentor for dutiable products and ensure regulatory awareness.
• Escalate issues to relevant managers and ensure compliance.
