Job summary

BWSC is seeking a Boiler Combustion Engineer to join our UK head office in Birchwood. The role combines hands-on technical support with engineering improvements across multiple sites in the UK.

The ideal candidate holds an engineering degree, with experience in power plants or energy facilities and a willingness to travel within the UK and internationally. A comprehensive reward package is offered including pension and health benefits.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree preferred.
• Experience with power plants or energy facilities is advantageous.
• Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Optimise boiler operation for stability, efficiency and emissions.
• Monitor combustion quality and fuel utilisation.
• Analyse fouling and erosion patterns and suggest mitigations.
• Inspect boilers during outages and plan maintenance to improve availability.
• Coach operators for efficient plant operation.
• Assist with boiler and steam chemical control and regulatory compliance.
• Analyse plant data for anomalies and efficiency losses.
• Develop diagnostics and test plans for performance assessments.
• Support root-cause analyses and knowledge sharing across sites.
