Job summary

The British Summer School (BSS Limited) seeks a Medical Officer to run scheduled clinics and provide first aid and care for students, staff and group leaders in the boarding house. You will manage medications, maintain records and escalate deteriorations promptly.

You will also maintain medical forms and care plans, handle confidentiality, coordinate referrals to GPs or A&E when required, and work with Welfare and Head Office to safeguard health and safety.

Qualifications

• Qualified medical officer with valid registration.
• Enhanced DBS clearance required.
• Experience in safeguarding and school health preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical assessments and first aid for students, staff, and group leaders.
• Manage medications in line with BSS policy, maintain records and audits.
• Review medical forms, care plans, allergies and dietary information.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate referrals to GPs or A&E when needed.
• Liaise with Welfare Team, parents and school staff for safeguarding and health matters.
• Maintain confidentiality and proper handling of medical records.
