Job summary

Pertemps is seeking a skilled BMS Pre-Commissioning Engineer to support delivery of Building Management System projects across London and surrounding areas. You will focus on pre-commissioning activities, panel checks, point-to-point testing, wiring verification and supporting commissioning engineers to ensure projects are prepared for handover.

Qualifications

• Experience in BMS, controls, or building services environments.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, panel drawings and schematics.
• Strong attention to detail and proactive problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Carry out BMS pre-commissioning activities across live project sites.
• Complete panel inspections, wiring checks, point-to-point testing and field device verification.
• Check controller installations, network connections, containment, cabling and associated control equipment.
• Support commissioning engineers by ensuring systems are ready for software loading, functional testing and client demonstrations.
• Identify, record and report installation issues, defects or incomplete works to the relevant project team.
• Review drawings, schematics, points schedules and control panel documentation to support accurate site testing.
• Work closely with electrical contractors, mechanical contractors, project managers and site teams.
• Maintain accurate test records, progress updates and commissioning documentation.
• Ensure all work is completed safely, professionally and in line with project requirements.
