Job summary

TipTopJob seeks an experienced BMS Engineer for a temp-to-perm role in Towcester, on-site. You will oversee design, commissioning, maintenance, and ongoing support of Building Management and automation systems, coordinating with customers and subcontractors.

Responsibilities include implementing PLC/SCADA/MES solutions, creating testing plans, and delivering safe, on-time projects, while maintaining quality and safety standards on site.

Qualifications

• Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) and industrial automation.
• Strong knowledge of Trend and/or Schneider Electric platforms.
• Experience in PLC, SCADA, MES systems and control software.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Deliver design, commissioning, servicing, and ongoing support of BMS and automation solutions.
• Provide technical support for PLC, SCADA, and MES platforms.
• Create, configure, test, and integrate control software and related hardware.
• Coordinate installation teams and specialist subcontractors during project delivery.
• Prepare commissioning records, technical reports, RAMS, and method statements.
• Ensure work complies with safety standards, regulations, and best practices.
• Support customer site visits, proposals, quotations, and engineering assistance.
• Collaborate with operations to meet milestones and performance targets.
• Drive improvements in engineering efficiency, reliability, and delivery processes.
• Oversee on-site activities and ensure compliance with HSE procedures.

My client is looking for an experienced Service Automation and BMS Engineer to join their growing Facilities Engineering team.

You will be responsible for the engineering, commissioning, maintenance, and ongoing support of Building Management Systems (BMS) and automation systems, ensuring projects and service activities are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget. Working closely with customers, subcontractors, operations teams, and internal stakeholders, you will provide high:quality technical solutions while supporting the continued performance and reliability of site systems.

• : A proven track record of delivering automation or BMS projects from installation through to commissioning
• : Good understanding of PLCs, SCADA, MES systems, and control software
• : Ability to interpret electrical and engineering drawings and technical documentation
• : Knowledge of health and safety legislation, including risk assessments and RAMS
