Job summary

Vantage Consulting is seeking an experienced BMS Controls Engineer in the Manchester area. You will work across electrical controls, HVAC and BMS projects, handling installation, commissioning, servicing, maintenance and fault finding on site.

The role requires an experienced electrician with strong electrical background; BMS experience is beneficial but training on RDM systems and software is provided. Travel nationally with site visits is expected.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified electrician or strong electrical engineering background.
• Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and control schematics.
• Comfortable working independently on customer sites.
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
• Full UK driving license and willingness to travel nationally.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission and maintain electrical control and BMS systems.
• Fault-find and diagnose electrical, controls and HVAC issues.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and control strategies.
• Work with control panels, sensors, actuators, VSDs and HVAC equipment.
• Carry out commissioning and testing of control panels and field devices.
• Support BMS upgrades and controls projects.
• Work directly with customers and other contractors on site.
• Complete service reports, commissioning documentation and site paperwork.
• Manage your own workload and plan site visits.
• Travel nationally when required, including occasional overnight stays.
