Job summary

Crucial People Ltd is seeking a BMS Commissioning Engineer for data centres, pharma and critical infrastructure across the UK and Europe. You will lead full commissioning through QA/QC stages, from FAT to IST with thorough documentation and handover.

You will work on DDC systems using Trend, Tridium, Schneider, Siemens or ALC, interpret control strategies, and mentor junior engineers on site. Travel across UK and EU is required.

Qualifications

• Proven BMS commissioning experience.
• Strong understanding of HVAC plant and control strategies.
• Experience with major BMS platforms (Trend, Tridium, Schneider, Siemens, ALC).
• Electrically competent with good site awareness.

Responsibilities

• Full commissioning through QA/QC Levels 1–5 (FAT → SAT → IST).
• Point-to-point checks, terminations, panel and wiring modifications.
• Producing daily reports aligned to programme delivery; commissioning documentation and drawings.
• Mentoring junior engineers on site; contributing to technical submittals and commissioning files.

BMS Commissioning Engineer – Data Centres, Pharma & Critical Infrastructure (UK / Europe)

If you are a commissioning engineer who knows the difference between “getting it running” and actually commissioning a system properly, this role will feel very different to most.

You will be joining a specialist projects division delivering BMS systems into data centres, pharmaceutical environments, and complex infrastructure projects across the UK and Europe.

These are not standard commercial projects. They are technically demanding environments where commissioning is structured, documented, and accountable — from FAT through to IST — with full QA/QC processes in place.

You will be part of a team where engineers are expected to understand the system, not just follow a checklist.

• Commissioning is delivered through defined QA/QC stages, giving clarity and structure

What you will be doing

• Full commissioning through QA/QC Levels 1–5 (FAT → SAT → IST)
• Point-to-point checks, terminations, panel and wiring modifications where required
• Production and modification of: Control schedules, Descriptions of operation, Commissioning documentation and drawings
• Commissioning of DDC systems including Trend, Tridium, Schneider, Siemens or ALC
• Managing witnessing packs, QA documentation, and structured handover
• Producing daily reports aligned to programme delivery
• Supporting and mentoring junior engineers on site
• Contributing to technical submittals, RFIs, and commissioning files

What you need

Specifically:

• Proven BMS commissioning experience
• Strong understanding of HVAC plant and control strategies
• Experience with at least one major BMS platform (Trend, Tridium, Schneider, Siemens, ALC)
• Ability to interpret and modify control strategies
• Electrically competent with strong site awareness
• Comfortable working independently while integrating into a wider team
