Job summary

Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust invites applications for a leadership role in the Blood Transfusion Department, working with the Head of Department to drive efficiency, quality and transformation.

The post holder will lead Biomedical Scientists and support staff, ensure compliance with the EU Blood Safety Directive 2005, UKAS ISO15189 accreditation and SHOT standards, and implement local and national policies to transform patient care.

Qualifications

• Must be suitably qualified and highly experienced in Blood Transfusion sciences.
• Experience with regulatory standards and accreditation processes.
• Strong leadership and change management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide management for the Blood Transfusion Department and coordinate service delivery.
• Lead Biomedical Scientists and support staff to deliver high-quality, efficient transfusion services.
• Ensure implementation of local and national policies relating to blood transfusion practice.
