Job summary

Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is hiring a Band 3 biomedical support worker for our blood transfusion laboratory at Colney. You will support biomedical scientists, operate analysers, and handle blood components for transfusion, with full training provided.

This role requires flexible availability to participate in a 24/7 shift roster and excellent attention to detail when entering patient data into IT systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist in transfusion laboratory testing of blood samples and preparation of blood components for transfusion.
• Operate analysers and input records on IT systems with high accuracy.
• Communicate with external laboratory users and provide information on blood component supply for patient care, including emergencies.
