Job summary

Mercor is assembling a panel of energetic materials and propulsion experts to red-team frontier AI models, testing whether a model can judge misuse potential in technical questions. You will craft prompts at three levels and evaluate model responses against policy standards, writing a reference answer with detailed reasoning.

Ideal candidates have a background in licensed blasting or handling specialty materials, with strong technical writing and prior red-teaming or auditing experience.

Qualifications

• Licensed blaster or blasting engineer with a relevant regulatory license or certification.
• Experience with blast design, vibration control and seismograph monitoring.
• Background in magazine management, inventory reconciliation and transport of specialty materials.
• Knowledge of storage compatibility, security and regulatory compliance for licensed facilities.
• Experience in training, certification or auditing blasting crews.

Responsibilities

• Write challenging single-turn prompts in your domain across benign, dual-use, and adversarial levels.
• Evaluate model responses against a defined policy standard and judge correctness.
• Create reference answer and technical reasoning explaining the boundary between safe and unsafe content.

Blast design and vibration control
