Job summary

Arup is seeking a Technical Lead – Birds to drive and shape bird ecology across the UK and Europe, strengthening capability, understanding client needs, and growing profitable ornithology workstreams.

The role partners with Nature leadership to secure major projects, build client relationships at senior levels, and advance reskilling and recruitment to meet demand in evolving markets.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a bachelor's degree in a relevant subject.
• Postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline (MSc advantageous).
• Membership of CIEEM and/or Chartered Ecologist, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow ornithology capability across the UK/Europe.
• Win work and secure ornithology lead roles on major projects.
• Map market opportunities and align resources to market demand.
• Provide reskilling and recruitment recommendations to meet demand.
