Job summary

Lonza AG's manufacturing site in Slough seeks a skilled Biotechnologist to maintain inoculum cell culture of mammalian lines in a cGMP clean room. The role emphasizes accurate batch records, aseptic processing, and close collaboration on production of clinical products.

Requirements include a Life Sciences/Biotech degree (or equivalent), inoculum/culture experience, and strong GMP knowledge with meticulous documentation.

Qualifications

• A BSc in Life Sciences, Biotechnology or a related scientific discipline, or equivalent relevant industry experience.
• Experience in inoculum and/or cell culture is highly desirable.
• Experience within a Manufacturing, Production or biotechnology environment would be advantageous.
• Good working knowledge of GMP principles, with an understanding of following procedures and documenting accurately.
• Practical laboratory or manufacturing experience with attention to quality, safety and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance of cell cultures to GMP standards using aseptic techniques with flawless batch records and log books.
• Performing cell counting, environmental monitoring, and aseptic activities to ensure quality.
• Routine laboratory maintenance, including equipment checks, stores management, and cleaning.
• Preparing stock solutions and mediums, followed by aseptic filtration to support activities.
• Keeping up-to-date with cGMP and safety trainings to ensure compliance.

Join our team at Lonza AG's global Manufacturing Plant in Slough. We have an outstanding opportunity for a skilled Biotechnologist to contribute to our Inoculum project. Your role will involve crafting and maintaining inoculum cell culture of mammalian cell lines within a cGMP clean room environment. This is crucial for the production of clinical products at Lonza Biologics Slough. Join our world-class team at Lonza, where flexibility meets opportunity! We offer two schedule options to support your work-life balance: Full-Time (37.5 hours/week): Working pattern is Friday to Tuesday and includes working every weekend. This is a fully site-based role. Working together in person supports close, real-time collaboration and the technical precision needed to manufacture medicines to the highest quality and safety standards.
