Job summary

Science Creates Services Ltd. is seeking a Lab & H&S Coordinator to support day-to-day operations of our biotech labs, ensuring safety, compliance and smooth site functioning. The role involves liaising with users, suppliers and colleagues to keep equipment running and procedures up to date.

You’ll contribute to risk assessments, SOPs, and health and safety processes, while managing multiple tasks in a busy, hands-on environment across our three locations.

Qualifications

• Experience in a biotech laboratory environment.
• Experience drafting risk assessments and SOPs.
• Awareness of health and safety legislation (COSHH, GMO regulations).
• Computer literacy with G Suite and spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operation of shared biotech labs and assist with inductions and equipment training.
• Coordinate and document lab inspections; follow up actions.
• Ensure lab services (water, gas, electricity, waste) are maintained and compliant.
• Support H&S and Biosafety committees; contribute to risk assessments.
• Monitor compliance with lab processes; report issues as needed.
• Assist with risk assessments and health and safety processes.
• Maintain waste, gas inventories, PPE and equipment records; handle admin duties.
• Support sustainability initiatives and external service calibrations.
• Liaise with tenant companies to review high-level risk assessments and licenses.
• Contribute to SOPs and risk assessment rollouts; support building operations.
