Job summary

Cancer Research UK is offering a 52-week Student Placement - Biosciences (Lab based) at Babraham Research Campus, Cambridge. Salary is £24,000 plus benefits with a 35-hour week. Start dates in September 2027; closing date 8 November 2026. Visa sponsorship is not available; you must be eligible to work in the UK.

Within the CRH-TI Biosciences group you will work with cancer cell lines, learn in vitro techniques, analyze results and present findings to a multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Must be studying for an undergraduate science degree (BSc/MSc/MSci) with at least 2 years completed by Aug 2027.
• Strong knowledge of Word, PowerPoint and Excel; ability to work in a team.
• Must be able to commence work in Sep 2027; eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research under supervision with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Learn in vitro techniques (cell culture, siRNA, CRISPR, Western blotting).
• Analyse results, develop hypotheses, and present findings to multi-disciplinary teams.
• Maintain electronic lab notebooks and follow data integrity policies.
