Job summary

Pennon Group is seeking a Head of Bioresources for South West Water. You will shape the long-term bioresources strategy, oversee asset portfolios, and drive improvements across wastewater assets from Exeter. This role requires strong leadership and a track record in bioresources or related infrastructure.

You will lead strategic plans, manage major investment programmes, and work with regulatory teams to ensure safe, compliant and high-performing operations. Exeter office presence is required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical, Process, Environmental Engineering or related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer status (or working towards chartership) with IChemE/CIWEM or equivalent.
• Experience leading wastewater/bioresources assets and investment planning.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of long-term bioresources strategy and asset plans.
• Own and evolve the AAD strategy, ensuring compliance and capacity needs are met.
• Sponsor major investment programmes through full project lifecycle.
• Provide technical leadership on sludge treatment, biosolids recycling and PFAS.
• Shape regulatory programmes and future price review submissions.
• Use asset health and life-cycle data to identify optimal investment opportunities.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering and regulatory teams to drive performance.
• Build and lead a high-performing bioresources team for future challenges.
