Job Description:

Water Recycling – Bioresources Delivery Manager

Salary: Circa £68,500- depending on skills and experience + company car/car allowance

Type: Permanent, Full time, 37 hours a week + occasional management standby

Location: Hybrid - home, main offices, and 10 Water Recycling Centres across the region as required

Water Recycling is at the heart of our operations. We are responsible for collecting and treating water used by customers, returning it to the environment via rivers and coastal outlets. Our network includes 76,000 km of sewers and over 1,000 water recycling centres. Would you like to be part of a team responsible for the safe and sustainable operation and maintenance of our water recycling assets?

What will you be doing?

You will ensure the delivery of an annual production plan and its effectiveness across our Renewable Energy and Water Recycling Centres in the Anglian Water region. You will enable site teams to operate at the highest safety standards and achieve environmental compliance. Your role involves working closely with site teams to operate the 10 largest Water Recycling Centres 24/7, meeting safety and environmental standards while delivering renewable energy. You will oversee regulatory compliance (IED, iGAS, BG01) through leadership of your Technical Managers and manage risk visualization and management tools.

This role supports our mission of environmental protection through wastewater treatment, renewable energy production, and high-quality bioresources, aligning with our goals for Circular Economy, Sustainability, and Net Zero. We seek a dynamic leader with excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with various teams.

Duties include:

  • Ensure effective water recycling operations at our 10 largest centres, complying with safety and regulatory permits
  • Manage wastewater and sludge treatment, maximizing throughput, gas, and power output at sludge treatment centres
  • Proactively manage compliance to meet Environmental Performance Assessment 4-star status
  • Support operational teams in achieving sustainable energy generation from STC assets
  • Drive continuous improvement using LEAN and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Support managers and technical staff to enhance work quality and resource management

Requirements to be a Bioresources Delivery Manager:

  • Experience in wastewater and sludge treatment operations or maintenance at management level
  • Relevant health and safety qualifications (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH)
  • Experience managing incidents and leading teams of leaders and technical experts
  • Financial decision-making and budget management skills
  • Technical knowledge of advanced digestion processes (Cambi, HPH) and sludge/wastewater treatment technologies
