Job description

Water Recycling – Bioresources Delivery Manager

Circa £68,500 - depending on skills and experience + company car/car allowance

Permanent, Full time, 37 hours a week + occasional management standby

Location: Hybrid - home, main offices, and 10 Water Recycling Centres across the region

Water Recycling is at the heart of our operations. We collect and treat water used by customers, returning it to the environment via rivers and coastal outlets. Our network includes 76,000 km of sewers and over 1,000 water recycling centres. Would you like to be part of a team responsible for the safe and sustainable operation and maintenance of these assets?

What will you be doing?

You will ensure delivery of an annual production plan across our Renewable Energy and Water Recycling Centres in the Anglian Water region. You will enable site teams to operate safely and meet environmental standards, working closely with them to achieve 24/7 operation at the 10 largest centres, ensuring safety and environmental permits are maintained.

You will lead regulatory compliance (IED, iGAS, BG01) through your Technical Managers and manage Risk Visualisation and Management Toolkits. Your role is crucial in protecting the environment through wastewater treatment, renewable energy production, and bioresource management, supporting Circular Economy, Sustainability, and Net Zero goals. You should be a dynamic leader with excellent communication skills.

Duties will include:

• Ensuring effective water recycling operations at the 10 largest centres, meeting safety and regulatory standards
• Managing wastewater and sludge treatment, maximising throughput, gas, and power output
• Maintaining compliance to achieve a 4-star Environmental Performance Assessment
• Supporting sustainable energy generation from STC assets
• Driving continuous improvement using LEAN and Six Sigma methodologies
• Supporting operational and technical managers to ensure adequate resources and high-quality work

What does it take to be a Bioresources Delivery Manager?

• Experience in wastewater and sludge treatment operations or maintenance at management level
• Relevant health and safety qualifications (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH)
• Experience managing incidents and leading teams of leaders and technical experts
• Financial decision-making and budget management skills
• Technical knowledge of advanced digestion processes (Cambi, HPH) and sludge/wastewater treatment technologies
