Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Controls and Instrumentation Engineer to design, develop, implement and maintain automated systems for biopharmaceutical processes. The role focuses on PLC programming, DCS (DeltaV), and instrument maintenance across regulated manufacturing environments.

You will collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and IT teams to deliver validated control solutions, support commissioning and qualification activities, and drive continuous improvement in a highly compliant

Qualifications

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Chemical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
Significant experience in controls and instrumentation engineering in regulated manufacturing.
Strong PLC programming and troubleshooting experience with Rockwell SIemens platforms.
Experience with DCS (Emerson DeltaV) and HMI/SCADA platforms.
Knowledge of process instrumentation, calibration, troubleshooting, and industrial protocols.
Experience in a GxP/cGMP environment with CSV principles.
Ability to read P&IDs, electrical schematics and technical docs, with good communication skills.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, implement, and maintain control systems for biopharmaceutical processes.
Configure, troubleshoot, and optimise automation systems including PLCs, DCS, and SCADA.
Develop and maintain control strategies, specifications, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot process instrumentation and analytical equipment.
Lead commissioning, qualification, and validation activities for control systems.
Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, engineering, IT and external suppliers.
Drive continuous improvement, investigate root causes, and train operational teams.
