The National Bacteriology Laboratory plays a leading role in transfusion and transplantation microbiology, both nationally and internationally, with close links to UKHSA, universities, and international biomedical companies.
You will be required to perform, analyse, record, and interpret a wide range of specialist and complex bacteriological investigations related to blood and tissue products.
You will be responsible for supporting and training new and less experienced staff.
You will need to handle blood and tissue samples and operate a range of laboratory analyzers and equipment.
You will be available to address queries from other departments, medical staff, or visitors, and provide specialist bacteriological advice to service users.
Some Saturday working will be required on a rotational basis.
