Job summary

Neko Health AB in London is seeking a Biomedical Scientist to join our fast-paced, innovative labs delivering rapid health screenings. The role is hands-on and autonomous, based on-site in one of our central London laboratories, operating Abbott Alinity and Sysmex XN-550 analysers.

You will work within an ISO 15189-aligned quality system, perform QC, calibrations, and ensure results are delivered within 30 minutes of sample receipt, while mentoring the team and supporting training.

Qualifications

• HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist with active CPD.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, low-volume lab.
• Proven ability to manage time and deliver accurate results under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Initialise the analysers each day and ready them for sample processing.
• Perform testing on Abbott Alinity and Sysmex XN-550 analysers; validate results and escalate anomalies.
• Carry out daily calibration, internal QC, and routine maintenance; troubleshoot issues.
• Work within ISO 15189-aligned quality management; update SOPs, monitor EQA, support audits.
• Contribute to service improvements: analyser verification, reagent evaluation, software testing.
• Maintain auditable records and monitor turnaround times, KPIs and consumables usage.
• Provide technical guidance to clinical colleagues and support training across the lab team.
