Unlock your potential in Haematology & Blood Transfusion with a key role at Charing Cross Hospital. We seek an ambitious Biomedical Scientist for our night team. This role is ideal for Band 6 aspirants or those seeking new experiences.

We desire a candidate passionate about making a difference in Haematology & Blood Transfusion, with HCPC registration, substantial experience in routine Haematology, Blood Transfusion, and morphology, and excellent technical, interpersonal, and IT skills. Effective communication and the ability to work independently or in a team are essential.

Your responsibilities include maintaining high-quality laboratory services, supporting clinical care, and ensuring compliance with quality standards and UKAS accreditation. Our lab operates 24/7, requiring full participation in all shifts.

Main duties of the job
  1. Provide high-quality service as a flexible member of the Blood Sciences lab for Imperial College Healthcare Trust.
  2. Maintain laboratory safety and good practice per guidelines.
  3. Collaborate with biomedical and clinical scientists to deliver effective Blood Sciences services, under the Head of Department's guidance.
  4. Handle, process, and analyze samples efficiently, under supervision.
  5. Keep accurate records and contribute to quality system maintenance.
  6. Maintain laboratory equipment.
  7. Perform supervised procedures across laboratory sections as directed.
  8. Undertake training to maintain HCPC registration and document all training activities.

NWLP Induction

Induction runs monthly, including lab training. New staff must attend during their first week. Upcoming start dates include 7 July, 4 August, 1 September, 6 October, 3 November, and 1 December 2025. Confirm availability before ending current employment.

  • HCPC Registration
