Job summary

Sonic Healthcare UK is seeking an experienced HCPC-registered Specialist Biomedical Scientist for the Histology department at Northwick Park Hospital, Harrow. The role involves dissection, embedding, microtomy, cryotomy, special stains, and immunohistochemistry, with emphasis on quality checks.

Full-time, permanent position with 37.5 hours weekly; UK work rights required. DBS check on onboarding; great career progression within a large international provider.

About the role

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced HCPC-registered Specialist Biomedical Scientist within our Histology department based at Cellular Pathology Services, Watford. Our department operates from Monday to Friday, 7am to 7pm. We are looking for a candidate who have completed their IBMS specialist portfolio in Histopathology Department and can demonstrate equivalent knowledge and skills. The successful candidate is expected to provide Histology services including dissection, embedding, microtomy, cryotomy, special stains, Immunohistochemistry & able to perform quality checks. You are expected to be proactive, motivated and a team player with an excellent communication skill. The successful candidate will also have opportunities to progress in their careers. We are UKAS accredited and a recognised HCPC / IBMS training laboratory.

Essential qualifications and experience

• HCPC Registered - include registration number with your CV and application.


• Extensive laboratory experience in Histopathology as Biomedical scientist.


• Full and unrestricted work rights for the UK.
