The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a newly qualified Band 5 Biomedical Scientist for a full-time role in the Biochemistry Department. The position offers rotations across three sites in London, a supportive environment for professional development, and opportunities for work-life balance. The Royal Marsden NHS Trust is the largest comprehensive cancer centre in Europe, renowned for high-quality patient care, research, development, and education. Our Laboratories are located on three sites: two in Central London (Chelsea and Cavendish Square) and one in Sutton, Surrey.
We are offering a full-time, 1-year fixed-term vacancy for a newly qualified, HCPC-registered Band 5 Biomedical Scientist (BMS) in the Biochemistry Department at our Chelsea site. Rotations to Cavendish Square and Sutton may be required based on service needs. The successful candidate will rotate through all areas of Biochemistry, developing their knowledge and experience with support from senior staff and clinical teams.
Main analytical platforms in Biochemistry (Chelsea) include the Ortho Vitro 5600. Experience with these analyzers is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. The candidate may also be required to participate in our on-call system after extensive training and sufficient exposure.
The Blood Sciences laboratories are accredited by UKAS under ISO15189. The Trust supports continuing professional development (CPD), and the department encourages participation in our CPD Club.

The post involves carrying out analytical work and rotating through all sections of the department. Key working relationships include staff in Biochemistry, Blood Transfusion, and Haematology, with liaison across the entire Pathology department and the Trust.
