Job description

The Royal Marsden NHS Trust is the largest comprehensive cancer centre in Europe, renowned for high-quality patient care, research, development, and education. Our Laboratories are located on three sites: two in Central London (Chelsea and Cavendish Square) and one in Sutton, Surrey.

We are offering a full-time, 1-year fixed-term vacancy for a newly qualified, HCPC-registered Band 5 Biomedical Scientist (BMS) in the Biochemistry Department at our Chelsea site. Rotations to Cavendish Square and Sutton may be required based on service needs. The successful candidate will rotate through all areas of Biochemistry, developing their knowledge and experience with support from senior staff and clinical teams.

Main analytical platforms in Biochemistry (Chelsea) include the Ortho Vitro 5600. Experience with these analyzers is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. The candidate may also be required to participate in our on-call system after extensive training and sufficient exposure.

The Blood Sciences laboratories are accredited by UKAS under ISO15189. The Trust supports continuing professional development (CPD), and the department encourages participation in our CPD Club.
