Job summary

Field Solutions Group is seeking an experienced Medical Device Engineer to service the Dorset/South West region with occasional travel to other regions. The role involves onsite and remote troubleshooting, installation, maintenance, calibration and repairs on medical equipment, plus completing preventative maintenance and field upgrades within defined timeframes.

The ideal candidate will have at least three years in medical devices or life sciences, with strong diagnostic and communication

Medical Device Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Medical Device Engineer for a global leading service provider. This role will be covering the Dorset/South West region with some occasional travel to other regions when required.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Onsite and remote troubleshooting, installation, maintenance, calibration and repairs on medical equipment


• Completing Preventative Maintenance and field modifications or upgrades in certain time frames.


• Troubleshooting not only on a mechanical/electrical level but understand and troubleshoot on an application level.


• Working as a member of a larger team but independently managing their territory to provide efficient service support to all customers within an assigned area.

Essential Experience

• Three years’ work experience in the medical device or life sciences industries is preferred.


• Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, and/or electronic equipment.


• Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical issues in an easy-to-understand manner.

Desirable Experience

• Bachelor’s degree, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology


• Ability to travel on short notice and stay overnight.
