Astute People is partnering with a leading Biomass company to hire an Outside Operator on a fixed-term contract for 8 months at their power station in Thetford. The role offers a starting salary of around £35,000 plus overtime, private medical and other benefits, with 12-hour shifts.

Qualifications

• Safety-conscious with strong adherence to procedures.
• Willingness to operate as part of a shift team.
• Experience in heavy process engineering environments is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine operational checks and inspections.
• Operate plant systems and equipment per procedures.
• Collaborate with the shift team to maintain safe operations.
• Carry out basic maintenance tasks per approved processes.
• Diagnose plant issues and propose effective solutions.
• Carry out pre-start, commissioning and decommissioning tasks.
• Provide clear, accurate shift handovers.
• Follow safety practices and procedures.
• Assist with fuel and ash operations duties and mobile plant driving.
