About the Role

Climate17 is working with a renewable energy company that supplies, installs, and maintains low carbon heating technologies such as biomass boilers, solar PV, heat pumps, and heat interface units.

We are seeking an experienced Biomass Field Service Engineer to provide on-site expertise for servicing and repairing biomass boilers, fuel feed systems, and related equipment, ensuring timely project delivery.

Responsibilities

1. Servicing, fault finding, and repairing industrial, commercial, and domestic biomass boilers.
2. Carrying out service and maintenance tasks related to commercial biomass boilers.
3. Completing and submitting all work-related documentation accurately and promptly.
4. Resolving onsite issues using your experience and knowledge.
5. Developing and maintaining supporting documentation for the role.
6. Performing work safely and diligently.
7. Complying with all health and safety policies and procedures.
8. Participating in regular training and development reviews with line management, tutors, and HR.

Requirements

• Multi-skilled engineer with recognized mechanical or electrical qualification (Essential).
• Knowledge of commercial/industrial biomass boilers (Essential).
• Experience in fault finding (Essential).
• Full UK driver’s license (Essential).
• Experience with brands such as Herz, Binder, Hargassener, Heizomat, HDG, KWB, Abi (Desirable).
• Previous experience installing, servicing, or commissioning large biomass or machinery systems (Desirable).
• Basic understanding of PLC control systems, including software updates and parameter adjustments via HMI/controller.
• Experience with biomass systems, various manufacturers, and combustion controls is advantageous.
• Electrical fault-finding at the board/component level.
• Mechanical fault-finding and repairs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• Basic plumbing/pipefitting skills, including fitting minor components like gauges, sensors, valves, and safety devices.
• Understanding of heating systems, pumps, valves, and safety requirements.
