Role Overview:

As a Biology Lecturer, you will plan and deliver engaging lessons that cater to students working towards GCSE, A-Level, or equivalent qualifications. You’ll support learners in mastering key biological concepts, developing scientific thinking, and preparing for examinations, higher education, or future careers in science-related fields.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality teaching in Biology across secondary Key Stages.
• Prepare lesson plans and resources aligned with the national curriculum or relevant qualifications framework.
• Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to aid academic development.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and intellectually stimulating classroom environment.
• Contribute to departmental planning and curriculum development.
• Maintain accurate records of student assessments and attendance.

Job Requirements:

• Prior experience teaching Biology at KS4/KS5 or in a college/further education setting.
• A degree in Biology or a closely related subject.
• Prior experience teaching Biology at Secondary or FE level, with a clear grasp of curriculum expectations and assessment methods.
• Strong subject knowledge with the ability to deliver engaging, accurate, and relevant content to learners of varying abilities.
• Ability to maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment, adapting teaching strategies to support diverse learning needs..
• Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through GSL Education).
