Job summary

The University of Hull's Centre for Biomedicine invites applications for a specialist technical support role within Dr Barbara Guinn’s lab. You will support research projects, manage samples, analyze data and prepare figures for grants and papers.

You will operate and maintain lab equipment, train staff and students, ensure health and safety compliance and liaise with external suppliers. A MSc in bioinformatics and skills in R/Python are essential.

Qualifications

• MSc level bioinformatics skills and experience.
• Strong data analysis with a bioinformatics focus.
• Experience with R and Python for statistics.
• Familiarity with laboratory methods and safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist technical support for Guinn group projects.
• Run experimental studies, collect and analyse data, prepare reports.
• Maintain and operate lab equipment; liaise with suppliers/engineers.
• Train staff and students; ensure health and safety compliance.
• Support data analysis and contribute to grants/papers.
