Job summary

United Utilities is offering a Biodiversity Intern position within the Integrated Water Management team in the North West. You will support the biodiversity strategy rollout, track targets, and assist in producing regulator reports while collaborating with environmental partners and stakeholders to deliver nature recovery outcomes.

The role requires a minimum 2:1 Environmental degree, penultimate year status, strong planning, communication, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Expecting a minimum 2:1 degree in an Environmental related field.
• Penultimate year of university study.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use.

Responsibilities

• Assist in rolling out the biodiversity strategy and lead on specific actions.
• Track performance against nature-related targets and report progress.
• Produce reports for regulators on statutory duties and biodiversity goals.
• Support delivery of action plans for invasive non-native species management.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop action plans for protected landscapes.
• Contribute to nature-based solutions and land/catchment initiatives.
• Assist senior managers on complex projects as needed.
• Develop stakeholder engagement materials to promote nature recovery.
