Job summary

GT Biosciences is seeking a mission-driven Scientist in Organic Chemistry and Bioconjugation to join the Deliveromics Platform Development team in Cambridge, MA. You will design, synthesize, and characterize novel ligands and conjugates for targeted delivery, and work end-to-end from molecule design through in vivo evaluation.

Qualifications

• PhD in organic/medicinal/related field or MS/BS with substantial directly relevant industry experience.
• Hands-on expertise in multi-step organic synthesis and purification.
• Experience with bioconjugation or linker chemistry.
• Analytical methods (LC-MS, HPLC/UPLC, NMR) to assess identity and purity.
• Ability to work with small molecules and biomolecules in varied solvents.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
• Onsite work five days a week at Cambridge, MA lab.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, synthesis, and characterization of ligands, linkers, and conjugates for targeted delivery.
• Control multi-step routes, optimize reactions, purify products, and scale up from mg to g quantities.
• Develop bioconjugation workflows for coupling to oligos, peptides, proteins, antibodies, or lipids.
• Optimize linker properties for potency, manufacturability, and in vivo performance.
• Purify and characterize materials using HPLC/UPLC, LC-MS, NMR, UV/Vis.
• Translate chemistry into delivery systems with cross-functional teams.
• Support in vitro and in vivo studies with well-characterized conjugates.
• Create scalable SOPs, release criteria, and tech transfer packages.
• Manage CROs and external execution with thorough documentation.
