Job summary

Labcorp’s UK site in Harrogate invites applications for a Laboratory Assistant to join the BioAnalysis team. You will perform weighings of test articles and reference materials, prepare reagents and study solutions, and help maintain equipment and lab standards.

This onsite role requires good attention to detail, strong communication, and adherence to SOPs and safety policies. You will work with client-owned samples and support continuous improvement in a busy analytical environment.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with colleagues at all levels.
• Good attention to detail; ability to follow SOPs and guidelines.
• Willingness to learn and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Weigh test articles and reference materials for the BioAnalysis department.
• Perform equipment verifications and calibrations (pipettes, balances, pH meters).
• Prepare reagents, buffers, and study-related solutions as needed.
• Provide general lab cleaning, reagent monitoring, and glassware washing.
• Manage inventory, ordering, and storage of laboratory supplies.
• Assist with freezer/refrigerator maintenance and disposal of materials.
• Support process improvement initiatives and maintain a safe lab environment.
• Ensure health and safety policies and SOPs are up to date.
