Job summary

Vickerstock, in partnership with a growing engineering and off-site manufacturing business, seeks a BIM Technician / Coordinator for their Co. Tyrone team.

The role covers development and coordination of BIM models for major data centre projects, guiding design through to manufacture and installation. Ideal candidates have around 3+ years' BIM experience, strong Revit skills, and a good grasp of multidisciplinary coordination.

Qualifications

• Around 3+ years' BIM experience.
• Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Revit.
• Experience producing and coordinating detailed BIM models and drawings.
• Knowledge of multidisciplinary design coordination and clash detection.
• Experience within MEP or Building Services is advantageous.
• Data centre project experience would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Develop BIM models using Revit and coordinate them across disciplines.
• Produce accurate BIM models, drawings and project information.
• Coordinate MEP and multidisciplinary design information across complex projects.
• Work closely with engineering teams to resolve design and coordination issues.
• Undertake clash detection and support coordination reviews.
• Ensure models and drawings comply with BIM standards and project requirements.
• Support the development and implementation of BIM processes and procedures.

BIM Technician | Co. Tyrone

Vickerstock are working in partnership with a growing engineering and off-site manufacturing business to recruit a BIM Technician / BIM Coordinator for their team in Co. Tyrone. The business specialises in the design and manufacture of engineered solutions for major construction projects, with a significant workload across the data centre sector. Their approach brings design, engineering and off-site manufacturing together, meaning BIM plays an important role in taking projects from coordinated design through to manufacture and ultimately installation on site.

This is a deliberately broad appointment. The business is open to someone with around 3+ years' BIM experience who wants to continue developing technically, but equally interested in speaking with experienced BIM Coordinators or BIM Managers who could take greater ownership of BIM processes and standards across the business.

Your new role

Depending on your experience, your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and coordinating BIM models using Revit


• Producing accurate models, drawings and associated project information


• Coordinating MEP and multidisciplinary design information across technically complex projects


• Working closely with engineering teams to resolve design and coordination issues


• Undertaking clash detection and supporting coordination reviews


• Ensuring models and drawings are produced in accordance with agreed BIM standards and project requirements


• Supporting the development and implementation of BIM processes and procedures


• Maintaining model accuracy and ensuring design information is suitable for downstream manufacture and project delivery


• Liaising with internal engineering, manufacturing and project teams throughout the design process


• For more experienced candidates, taking greater responsibility for BIM standards, workflows and the continued development of BIM capability across the team

What you will need to succeed

• Around 3+ years' experience working within a BIM-focused position


• Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Revit


• Experience producing and coordinating detailed BIM models and drawings


• Good understanding of multidisciplinary design coordination and clash detection


• Previous experience within MEP or Building Services would be highly advantageous, although it is not essential


• Previous data centre experience would be beneficial but is not essential


• Experience within engineering, construction, manufacturing or another relevant technical environment


• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively alongside engineering and project teams


• Applications are also encouraged from more experienced BIM Coordinators and BIM Managers interested in a position offering greater responsibility and the opportunity to influence BIM processes within a growing business.
