Strata Consulting in the UK is seeking a Principal BIM Technician to lead BIM and digital delivery across multidisciplinary teams. Based in Cardiff or Bristol, you will shape standards and workflows, and work with engineers and project teams to boost collaboration.
You will drive BIM strategy, coordinate models, implement templates, and promote best practice. The role offers hands-on technical work with senior leadership responsibility and opportunities across commercial, healthcare and data
We’re currently working with an established and growing multidisciplinary engineering consultancy that is looking to appoint a Principal BIM Technician to join their team in either Cardiff or Bristol. With a strong reputation across civil and structural engineering, project management and digital delivery, the business is continuing to invest in its people, technology and capabilities. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced BIM professional to take a leading role in the continued development of BIM and digital engineering within an ambitious consultancy.
This position offers genuine scope to lead the digital transformation of a multidisciplinary business, helping shape how BIM is implemented, developed and utilised across the organisation. You’ll work closely with civil and structural engineering teams and have the opportunity to contribute to a varied project portfolio spanning commercial, healthcare, residential, aviation and energy, alongside an expanding pipeline of data centre projects across the UK and internationally. Rather than simply producing models and drawings, you’ll have the opportunity to influence standards, processes and workflows, improve digital collaboration and help develop the consultancy’s BIM capability as the business continues to grow.
The successful candidate will be an experienced BIM professional who can combine strong technical capability with the ability to lead, influence and improve digital delivery. You’ll need a solid understanding of BIM processes and standards, strong knowledge of relevant design software and the confidence to work with engineers, technicians, project teams and senior management to drive improvements. This is particularly well suited to someone who enjoys being hands‑on technically but is now looking for greater responsibility and the opportunity to shape BIM strategy within a growing consultancy.
