Job summary

Blue Arrow is seeking a BIM Technician in Birmingham to support development, coordination, and delivery of BIM models across multi-disciplinary construction projects. You will work with design teams, project managers, and the BIM Manager to ensure accurate 3D models and data aligned with standards and ISO 19650 processes.

Responsibilities include producing and maintaining BIM models, coordinating architectural/structural/MEP data, and ensuring model version control.

Qualifications

• Experience with BIM ISO 19650 processes.
• Proficient in BIM authoring tools including Revit and Navisworks.
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary models and manage data

Responsibilities

• Prepare 2D and 3D drawings, schedules, and outputs for design, tender, and construction.
• Support integration of model data with asset information requirements (COBie).
• Maintain model version control and ensure timely distribution.
• Collaborate with consultants, contractors, and internal teams for timely data receipt.
• Assist teams in applying BIM standards and workflows.

Role: BIM Technician

Location: Birmingham

Duration: 3 Months

Rate: £350 - £400P/D

Main Purpose of Job

To support the development, coordination, and delivery of BIM models and digital information across multi-disciplinary construction design projects. The BIM Technician will work closely with design teams, project managers, and the BIM Manager to ensure the accurate production, integration, and maintenance of 3D models and associated data in line with company standards, client requirements, and ISO 19650 processes.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Produce, develop, and maintain 3D BIM models using approved authoring tools, ensuring compliance with project BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and company standards.


• Assist in the coordination of architectural, structural, and MEP models, identifying clashes and supporting resolution through collaboration with design teams.


• Prepare 2D and 3D drawings, schedules, and model outputs required for design, tender, and construction stages.


• Support the integration of model data with asset information requirements, including COBie and other structured datasets.


• Contribute to maintaining model version control, ensuring updates are accurately recorded and distributed.


• Work collaboratively with consultants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure timely receipt and integration of design model information.


• Assist project teams in the correct application of BIM standards, workflows, and modelling best practices.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of BIM processes within the ISO 19650 framework.


• Proficiency in BIM authoring tools (e.g., Revit, ArchiCAD, Civil 3D, Navisworks).


• Experience supporting model coordination and clash detection.
