Job summary

NG Bailey in Bristol is seeking a BIM Manager to lead our BIM team, producing and maintaining building drawings and models to support design and construction.

You will report to the Divisional BIM Lead, drive BIM standards, coordinate across design, operations, and NG Bailey Offsite teams, and help grow your career within one of the UK's leading M&E contractors.

Qualifications

• Solid BIM experience with CAD and Revit within an MEP environment.
• Demonstrable leadership experience.
• Able to think creatively and provide solution-oriented approaches.
• Excellent communication skills with clients and internal teams.
• Experience guiding BIM standards and project coordination across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Lead the BIM team with clear objectives, responsibilities and accountability.
• Hold regular BIM coordination meetings using 3D models to discuss variations and overspend.
• Define, configure and implement companywide BIM standards; liaise with central BIM development.
• Provide tender stage BIM cost estimates and support to the Bid team.
• Maintain knowledge of MEP systems to optimise coordinated solutions and ensure CDM compliance.
• Visit sites to gain practical insights and improve modelling/coordination.

Job description

We are currently seeking a BIM (Building Information Modelling) Manager to join our growing team out of our Bristol office.

This role will be responsible for leading a BIM team while reporting into the Divisional BIM Lead. The team will be producing and maintaining building drawings and models to assist in the overall design and construction process.

Some of the key deliverables in this role will include:

• Provide leadership for the BIM team; through clear provision of objectives, responsibilities and accountabilities, managing performance accordingly.
• Hold regular coordination review meetings, using 3D model as a discussion tool and highlighting variations and forecasting overspend, to ensure timely communication between the department and the wider construction team.
• Define, configure and implement companywide BIM standards and identify BIM systems requirements. Liaise with the central BIM development team to oversee the application and provide projected BIM costs, programme and scope of works for all projects, engaging with design, operations and NG Bailey Offsite to resolve any issues that arise.
• Provide tender stage support and BIM cost estimates to the Bid team
• Maintain a working knowledge of all MEP systems relevant to the installation commissioning and maintenance of services, to ensure optimised coordinated solutions and enable CDM compliance.
• Conduct regular coordination review meetings, using 3D model as a discussion tool and highlighting variations, to ensure timely communication between the department and the wider construction team.
• Visit site to gain practical experience of installation practices and apply these to improve modelling and coordination effectiveness.
• Develop skills within the team in relation to software, MEP systems and coordination of work, offering guidance and feedback to maximise the performance of the team.

• Client experience, ability to walk the client through what they are seeing where the client has little to no BIM or CAD knowledge
