Job summary

Invision Group is seeking an experienced BIM Manager to lead the BIM team for major Western region MEP projects from our Bristol office.

You will drive BIM standards, coordinate 3D models and clash prevention, and support design, pre-construction and site teams to deliver buildable MEP solutions using Revit.

Salary is up to £65,000 basic plus £5,000 car allowance, with a hybrid work pattern and the opportunity to influence regional delivery for a market-leading contractor.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to the BIM team, establishing clear objectives and accountability.
• Lead BIM and digital coordination across multiple MEP projects within the region.
• Define, configure and implement BIM standards, processes and systems.
• Collaborate with the central BIM development team to ensure company standards are applied.
• Chair regular 3D model coordination meetings, identify clashes and design issues.
• Provide tender-stage BIM support and cost estimates to Bid and Pre-Construction teams.
• Work with Design, Operations and Offsite teams to resolve coordination and buildability issues.
• Maintain knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems relevant to installation and maintenance.
• Undertake site visits to inform modelling and coordination improvements.
• Develop BIM capability within the team through coaching and training.
• Identify opportunities to improve BIM processes and efficiency.

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an experienced BIM Manager to join a market-leading MEP contractor, based from their Western regional office in Bristol.

This is a key regional position, providing leadership to the BIM team while supporting the design, coordination and successful delivery of major MEP projects across the Western region.

The successful candidate will combine strong BIM and Revit capability with a sound technical understanding of Mechanical & Electrical building services. You will be comfortable leading a team, working closely with Design, Pre-Construction and Operational teams, and using BIM to develop practical, coordinated and buildable MEP solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to the BIM team, establishing clear objectives, responsibilities and accountabilities and managing performance accordingly.
• Lead BIM and digital coordination across multiple MEP projects within the region.
• Define, configure and implement BIM standards, processes and systems.
• Work closely with the central BIM development team to ensure company standards and best practice are consistently applied.
• Chair regular 3D model coordination and review meetings, identifying clashes, design issues, variations and potential cost implications.
• Provide tender-stage BIM support and cost estimates to Bid and Pre-Construction teams.
• Work closely with Design, Operations and Offsite teams to resolve coordination and buildability issues.
• Maintain a strong working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems relevant to the installation, commissioning and maintenance of building services.
• Undertake regular site visits to understand installation practices and use this knowledge to improve modelling and coordination.
• Develop BIM capability within the team, providing coaching and guidance across Revit, BIM software, MEP systems and coordination techniques.
• Identify opportunities to improve BIM processes, efficiency and project delivery across the business.

About You

We are looking for an experienced BIM professional who combines excellent Revit/BIM capability with genuine technical knowledge of MEP building services.

Ideally, you will have:

• Previous experience as a BIM Manager, BIM Lead, Senior BIM Coordinator or Digital Engineering Manager within an MEP/building services environment.
• Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Revit, particularly within MEP.
• Sound technical understanding of mechanical and electrical building services systems.
• Experience coordinating complex MEP installations using 3D models.
• Good understanding of construction sequencing, installation and commissioning.
• Previous experience leading, mentoring or developing BIM teams.
• Ability to identify clashes, design risks and buildability issues before they impact site delivery.
• Experience working for a major MEP contractor or on technically complex construction projects would be advantageous.
