Job summary

Indeed Flex, a technology-driven staffing platform, seeks a Billing Specialist I to own defined billing workflows and ensure accurate client invoicing. You will consolidate T&A, rate data and worker pay information, resolve queries, and drive month-end reporting in a fast-paced environment.

Based in London, the role blends hands-on billing with process improvement, automation testing, and mentoring teammates.

Qualifications

• Relevant accounting or billing experience with complex billing
• Part qualified or finalist of CPA or equivalent
• Strong knowledge of invoicing, rate and tax rules (including VAT)
• Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations)
• Introductory SQL or willingness to learn quickly
• Experience with NetSuite and Salesforce
• Structured problem solving with clear root causes and documentation
• Comfort testing automations and AI tools, with clear defect reports
• Experience onboarding or mentoring peers
• Strong numeracy and attention to detail under pressure
• Strong communication with internal partners and auditors
• Highly organized with strong prioritization across operations and analytics

Responsibilities

• Own defined billing workflows and ensure outcomes comply with rate, tax and invoicing rules
• Raise accurate client invoices by consolidating T&A, rate and worker pay data
• Invoice credit card customers and coordinate data with providers
• Run weekly reconciliation of portal data against worker pay and timesheets
• Ensure correct client setup in billing systems (rates, tax, billing details)
• Investigate discrepancies and document root causes for action
• Balance live billing with analysis and validate tooling changes
• Improve discrepancy handling with clearer root causes and fewer exceptions
• Protect billing SLAs and invoice-run timelines during peaks
• Map workflow friction across ACP/OMS, NetSuite, Salesforce and related tools
• Apply payroll, tax, invoicing and AR rules accurately
• Build basic billing reports and perform data verification end-to-end
• Test billing automation and AI tools in production-like conditions
• Maintain QA gates for owned workflows and ensure defects do not reach clients
• Onboard and mentor associates and manage short-term overflow
• Share discrepancy findings with Credit Control, Payroll, Finance and Ops
• Support auditors with process walkthroughs and inquiries
• Support month-end reporting and reconciliation
