Job summary

Kids Planet Day Nurseries is hiring a Billing & Collections Advisor to manage the group's debt and sales ledger from our Head Office. You will contact parents and nurseries about invoices, ensure timely payments, and support EY Funding documentation and month-end processes.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in Billing or Collections, strong Excel skills, and the ability to negotiate effective resolutions in a busy office environment.

Qualifications

• Strong Excel, Word, and Outlook skills are essential.
• Able to listen to customers and negotiate resolutions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure customers pay on schedule and follow up on past-due bills.
• Follow debt policies and initiate proceedings if necessary.
• Invoicing for 1000–1500 customers per month using nursery software.
• Assist with EY Funding documentation and payments.
• Reconcile outside agency payments and maintain nursery relationships.
• Perform month-end duties and provide cover as needed.

As a quickly developing nursery company, Kids Planet Day Nurseries has grown to over 300 nurseries. As a result, we are always adding members to our finance team, and we are presently seeking a Billing & Collections Advisor to join our team. The Billing & Collections Advisor's job is to oversee the group's portfolio of nurseries' debt and sales ledger. When parents or the nurseries themselves have questions about invoices or debt, the Billing & Collections Advisor will be the person to contact first. The chosen applicant will actively participate in the expanding Finance Department at Head Office and possess strong interpersonal and attention to detail skills.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

• Make sure customers pay on schedule, and follow up via phone, email, or letter on any past-due bills.
• Follow the company’s debt policies and initiate legal proceedings if necessary
• Invoicing around 1000 - 1500 customers per month using nursery software
• Supporting, processing and reconciliation of all LA documentation surrounding EY Funding, claiming via the online portal and payments received.
• Reconciliation of outside agency payments
• Maintaining open lines of contact with nurseries to guarantee productive relationships
• Month-end duties
• Any other duties that may be deemed appropriate to this role, including providing cover for colleagues as required

The ideal applicant will possess:

• At least 3 years of dedicated Billing or Collections experience or transferable experience from a different field.
• Good level of competence in Excel, Word, and Outlook
• The ability to listen to customers and negotiate successful resolutions
• Self-motivated, calm and professional, and able to work efficiently in a busy office environment
• Ability to reconcile complex accounts and have excellent attention to detail
• Excellent Numerical ability and problem-solving skills
