Job summary

Seton Home in the United Kingdom is seeking a Recreation Specialist to schedule, supervise, and manage daily activities and monthly field trips for residents, ensuring a safe and engaging environment.

You will deliver activities, coordinate volunteers, and implement the program's systems, with compliance to safety and cultural sensitivity.

The role requires CPR/First Aid knowledge, transport safety, and ability to work with diverse populations; a 10-day orientation is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in the behavioral sciences, human services or social services fields.
• Or high school diploma with two years of employment experience in the child welfare field planning activities for children/adolescents.
• Reliable transportation; valid driver license; valid vehicle insurance.
• Must provide immunization/shot records and pass background checks.
• Capable of performing tasks and responsibilities physically, mentally and emotionally.

Responsibilities

• Design, coordinate and implement age-appropriate activities for residents (cultural and spiritual).
• Ensure residents receive at least one hour per day of outdoor leisure and one hour of structured activity.
• Create a monthly recreation calendar with field trips and cultural activities.
• Recruit, train and monitor program volunteers with specialized skills.
• Deliver services within the Sanctuary Model framework and ensure safety protocols.
