Job summary

People First in the United Kingdom is seeking a Japanese-speaking Finance Team Assistant to join our Central London office on a permanent, on-site basis.

The role covers accounting, cash management, financial reporting, J-SOX and internal audit support, and general administration. You will liaise with stakeholders in Japan and the UK, handle payments, closing processes, and travel arrangements while ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications

• Japanese language proficiency at mother tongue level.
• Experience in accounting, finance, audit or related field desirable.
• Experience with cash management, financial closing and expense processing advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Accounting & Cash Management: handle monthly project funding, monitor payments, maintain cash books, invoices and payments.
• Financial Reporting & Audit: bookkeeping liaison, accruals, closing processes and audits.
• J-SOX & Internal Audit: support annual J-SOX and audits; liaise with Tokyo head office and external firms.
• General Administration: manage approvals, travel arrangements, IT support, research and reporting.
