Job summary

Junior Adventures Group is seeking a Childcare Activity Leader for Biggleswade Academy (Mead End). The role involves running Breakfast Club and Afterschool wraparound activities for children aged 2-11, with mornings and afternoons split shifts (7:30-9:00am and 3:00-6:00pm).

You will deliver engaging activities, supervise with warmth, and help maintain a safe, welcoming environment while supporting kids to learn, grow, and have fun. DBS checks are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in childcare or youth work is beneficial.
• Ability to create engaging, age-appropriate activities.
• Strong focus on safety and inclusivity.

Responsibilities

At Junior Adventures Group, we're not just childcare, we're champions of fun! From football to face painting, scavenger hunts to snack time, you'll bring smiles, laughter, and energy to our Breakfast & After School Clubs for children aged 2-11.
This role is split shift, meaning you'll work mornings and afternoons, with a break in between (great for studying, hobbies, family, or even a nap!). You'll also have the opportunity to increase your hours during Holiday Club seasons and Lunchtime Cover.

What you'll do day-to-day:

• Deliver exciting, age-appropriate activities like multi-sports, arts & crafts, group games, and creative play.
• Set up engaging play spaces and keep things safe, clean, and awesome.
• Supervise children with care and enthusiasm, ensuring every child feels welcome, safe, and included.
• Prepare snacks and manage sign-in/out processes with a friendly face and attention to detail.
• Work split shifts: 7:30-9:00am and 3:00-6:00pm, perfect for work-life balance or those seeking part-time fun!
• Be a team player who can also take the lead when needed.

What we’re looking for:

• Someone who loves working with children and brings a positive, can-do attitude

• A team player who’s also confident running activities and managing a group
• Bonus points if you have experience in teaching, coaching, childcare, or youth work (but not essential, personality goes a long way!)
