Job summary

Orton Group in Wolverhampton is seeking an experienced Bid Writer to craft compelling bid documents and manage proposal processes. You will work with project managers and technical teams to gather information, proofread content, and ensure proposals meet client specifications.

The role requires strong writing, editing, and organizational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple bids while maintaining high standards and timely submissions.

Qualifications

• Proven bid writing experience in construction or related fields.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to translate complex ideas clearly.
• Strong proofreading to eliminate errors before submission.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Knowledge of industry terminology and technical concepts is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive bid proposals in response to client requests.
• Collaborate with project managers and technical teams to gather information for proposals.
• Proofread bid documents to ensure accuracy, tone, and formatting consistency.
• Prepare well-structured, professional documents for client submission.
• Manage multiple bids and meet strict submission deadlines.
• Maintain templates, past proposals, and standard responses for efficiency.
• Search portals for suitable opportunities and manage QPQs and RFIs.
• Support team in presentations and keep portals up to date.
• Analyse feedback on won/lost tenders and update tender logs.
