Job summary

Shillito Group is seeking an experienced Bid Writer in the East Midlands. The role focuses on shaping proposals, producing clear client-facing documents, and coordinating high-quality tender submissions.

You will lead bids, perform research to support submissions, and collaborate with internal teams and external consultants. Excellent communication and meticulous attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience preparing high-quality PQQs and tender submissions for construction or civil engineering projects.
• Confident communicator with clear written and verbal skills.
• Strong organiser able to manage workload and meet tight deadlines.
• Proactive and collaborative, delivering complex bids.
• Proficient with bid software and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Develop clear win strategies and answer planning.
• Review PQQ and tender requirements and plan submission approach.
• Carry out research to support bid submissions.
• Lead assigned bids, organising kick-off meetings and planning tasks.
• Produce, edit, and review bespoke tender responses aligned with client needs.
• Work with internal teams and external consultants to develop content.
• Prepare materials for client presentations and attend interviews as required.
• Maintain and update bid information within bid software and company systems.
• Support continuous improvement by monitoring feedback and updates to processes.
