Job summary

Howells Solutions Limited in Romford is seeking an experienced Bid Writer to produce high-quality, compliant tender submissions for construction, refurbishment and public sector projects. Bid Writer - Construction & Refurbishment - Public Sector

£45,000 - £55,000 + Bonus + Benefits

We are working with an established and successful construction contractor to recruit an experienced Bid Writer to join their team in Romford.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a friendly, close-knit business with an excellent reputation for delivering construction, refurbishment and maintenance services across the social housing and public buildings sectors.

The business works with a strong mix of public and private sector organisations, including Local Authorities, Housing Associations, Property Managers and Education Trusts, delivering projects across Social Housing, Public Buildings, Schools, Universities and Care Homes.

With a turnover of approximately £14m and a team of circa 30 employees, this is an established, family-owned contractor where you'll have the opportunity to make a genuine impact. You'll be joining an experienced and supportive team, taking ownership of tender submissions and playing an important part in securing new contracts and framework opportunities.

Bid Writer Role:

As Bid Writer, you'll be responsible for producing high-quality, compelling and compliant tender submissions across a varied portfolio of construction, maintenance and refurbishment contracts.

Typical workstreams will include: Repairs & Maintenance, Planned & Cyclical Works, Void Refurbishments, Compliance Works, Damp & Mould programmes, Fire Safety Works and Refurbishment Projects.

Working closely with the Directors and wider operational and commercial teams, you'll take ownership of submissions from initial tender review through to completion.

Bid Writer Experience:

• Previous experience as a Bid Writer, Proposal Writer or Tender Writer.
• Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills.
• The ability to write persuasive, customer-focused tender responses.
• Experience managing multiple bids simultaneously.
• Strong project management and organisational skills.
• Experience using electronic tender portals.
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
• Adobe Creative Suite experience would be advantageous.
• Experience within construction, energy, property services, maintenance, facilities management or related sectors is highly desirable.
