Job summary

Brandon James is seeking a confident Bid Manager to join its Leeds or Manchester office. You will own the bid process, develop winning strategies with client-facing teams, and manage tender submissions to drive new business.

You will coordinate pre-bid research, lead storyboarding and writing, review inputs for accuracy, and coordinate materials into a compelling, compliant bid package.

Qualifications

• Understanding and experience of public and/or private sector procurement processes.
• Experience in construction, engineering, property or consultancy sectors.
• Experience in a Bid Manager, Senior Bid Writer, Senior Bid Coordinator or similar role.
• Strong project management and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly and persuasively.
• Commercial awareness and understanding of successful bidding strategies.
• Strong critical thinking and ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end bid development, submission, and win strategies.
• Lead pre-bid research to study clients, competitors and market trends.
• Facilitate bid governance meetings and approvals before submission.
• Review tender documents for compliance and plan delivery milestones.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to produce high-quality responses.
• Storyboard and write compelling bid content and ensure accuracy.
• Edit inputs from others to ensure professional and concise content.
• Manage materials and final bid formatting for submission.
• Engage with clients post-submission for discussions and negotiations.
• Lead lessons learnt reviews and knowledge management for future bids.
• Support ongoing development of case studies and bid content.
• Monitor bid performance and drive continuous improvement.
