Job summary

UK Tote Group is seeking an experienced BI Reporting Manager on a 6-month fixed-term contract to lead the delivery, development and continuous improvement of our BI reporting capabilities.

You'll be a technical expert in Power BI, DAX and SQL, partner with internal stakeholders to drive data-driven decisions, mentor a BI team and shape reporting strategy. This role offers an opportunity to enhance self-service analytics across the business and deliver high-quality, automated reporting.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience with Power BI, DAX, SSRS and SQL as SME.
• Experience leading BI or reporting teams and coaching colleagues.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own and enhance reporting and dashboard suites using Power BI.
• Design, develop and maintain robust, automated reporting solutions.
• Act as SME for Power BI and SQL, promote best practices.
• Ensure data accuracy and quality across outputs.
• Translate stakeholder needs into self-service reports and dashboards.
• Collaborate with Engineering to roll out further Power BI suites.
• Deliver training to enable self-sufficiency in Power BI.
• Promote a data-driven culture across the business.
• Manage, mentor and develop a BI team with a high-performance mindset.

We’re looking for an experienced BI Reporting Manager to join us on a 6-month fixed term contract to lead the delivery, development and continuous improvement of the BI reporting functionality at the Tote. This is an exciting opportunity for a data-driven leader who thrives working in a fast-paced environment, is a technical expert with Power BI, DAX & SQL, and values creating strong partnerships with internal stakeholders to drive data-driven decision making across the business.

During this 6-month fixed-term contract, you'll play a key role in shaping reporting strategy, enhancing self-service analytics capabilities and leading a talent BI team through an exciting period.

What You’ll Be Doing

Lead Reporting Excellence

• Own and enhance existing reporting and dashboard suites using Power BI
• Design, develop and maintain robust, automated reporting solutions
• Act as the subject matter expert for Power BI and SQL, promoting best practice across the business
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency and quality across all reporting outputs

Drive Self-Service Analytics

• Work closely with internal teams to understand reporting and analytic needs, translating requirements into self-service reports and dashboards
• Work with Engineering to develop and roll-out further Power BI reporting suites
• Deliver training and coaching to help colleagues become self-sufficient in Power BI
• Promote a data-driven culture across the business

Lead & Develop the BI Team

• Manage, mentor and develop a team of BI professionals
• Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement
• Review work, provide technical guidance and support workload planning
• Encourage communication and collaboration across the business

Who We’re Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience

• Extensive hands on experience in Power BI & DAX, SSRS and SQL, with the ability to act as the subject matter expert
• Experience working with cloud technology (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Proven experience leading, coaching and mentoring BI or Reporting teams
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of how data supports business performance.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to tight deadlines.

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Experience with Python and/or R
• Experience working with Databricks
• Background within betting, gaming or other fast-paced digital consumer businesses
• Interest in sports, betting or racing industries
