Job summary

Harnham - Data & Analytics Recruitment is seeking a BI Lead for a 12-month FTC, fully remote in the UK. You will shape reporting capability, enhance self-service analytics, and deliver insights that influence decisions across the business.

You’ll develop and optimise Power BI dashboards, work with data models and semantic layers, write SQL and DAX, and collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into effective reporting solutions while promoting governance and best practices.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with Power BI front-end dashboards and back-end data modelling.
• Advanced SQL querying and data transformation skills.
• Expertise in data modelling concepts (star schema, Kimball) and semantic modelling.
• Proficiency in DAX measures and calculations.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Experience in Agile environments and prioritised workloads.
• Good stakeholder communication and documentation skills.
• CI/CD exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

• Strong commercial experience with Power BI development, including both front-end visualisation and back-end modelling
• Excellent SQL skills for querying, transforming, and structuring data
• Strong understanding of data modelling principles, including concepts such as star schema, Kimball methodology, and semantic modelling
• Experience developing and maintaining DAX measures and calculations
• Confidence engaging with stakeholders and translating business requirements into technical solutions
• Experience working within agile environments and managing prioritised workloads
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Any experience with CI/CD is desirable
